Virtual Tour

Yeah!! We are going on a virtual tour to the San Diego Zoo. But wait what does virtual mean?? Ooh we aren't going to a real zoo. We will be going onto a website to learn about animals, IMAGING we are at the San Diego Zoo. I can’t wait to get started and learn about the interesting animals.

Fear Factor

In the morning our teacher showed us a clip on YouTube, it was called the Fear Factor. It is the most disgusting most revolting video we have ever watched because, they had to eat and drink… Bugs, worms and they had to  drink blood and they had to eat rat hair chips, YUCK!! After that revolting video Mr Goodwin said,“ Now it’s time for the room 6 Fear Factor” I couldn’t wait to start.

This is my Writing about our very own Room 6 Literacy Class's Fear Factor Challenge. Which Inez, Rima, Christian and Hosea contested in. We also planned our paragraphs. This Term we are learning about Survive, Outwit, Outlast and Outsmart. So this Week for our Reading Activity we are learning about Habitats and have been Studying them. The Paua Shells have been learning about Rainforest and Tropical Rainforests and the animals that live in it. I have also learnt about what sort of animals there are. For an Example : Herbivorous mammals that live in the forest canopy include flying squirrels, monkeys and sloths

Trip to the dentist / Where did they go?

WALT: think about my purpose and reader by planning my recount.

When literacy started the dentist rang for me, I went and she did something to my teeth. When she was done, I came back noticing that my literacy crew has left. I was wondering where they have left too. I turn around and go outside and see them walking back, but as they were walking back some of them were holding eggs that was really weird.

When I was sent to the dentist, I was walking their I see a bunch of girls on the way to the dentist, they all were just twirling around. But when I got outside I see a teacher with a student playing handball, I was talking to myself in my head saying, (Isn’t that student supposed to be in class?)Then as I was walking I got to the dentist and see that a woman was waiting for me standing there, she opened the door and in I went, she took me to room 3 and I lay down onto the chair and it fell back and went up. She gave me a pair of dark sunglasses so the light won't get into my eyes.

Then she asked a me a question, she said “ Is your mum OK for me to pull your teeth out?” I replied “ Yes she is fine with you pulling my teeth out.” But before she did she had to numb my tooth first so it won’t feel too painful, ( The thing that she was using to numb my teeth tasted like mint. )

When she was done she got that big thingy and yanked my tooth out I couldn’t feel a thing.

After that she gave something soft so bite on, she told me to bite on it as hard as I can, so I did as she said. Then she gave me a paper and said to me, “ This paper means you won’t need to come to the dentist until next year.” I said in my head ( That's a long time ) Then I took that thing out of my mouth and chucked it in the bin. Before I left she said to me, “ The numb feeling should go away before morning tea, but if it doesn't then eat on the other side of your mouth.

Then as I was walking back to class I see no one there in my literacy class, they were all gone. I was wondering where they have gone I was lost, I was just standing outside looking around for them, but then I hear a lot of chatter outside and it was them, but the strange thing is as they were walking back to class, they were holding eggs in their hands, some were cracked but some were perfectly together. I was wondering why they were holdings eggs for I was really confused.

When I was at the dentist I felt scared and nervous but when it was done I felt better then ever, but when I got back from the dentist I was so, confused and mixed up on

(A) why they were holding eggs and (B) Where they went.

I was still so so so confused!!!!!

Onomatopoeia

Description of Learning : 
Last week, Ms Tito's literacy group, (Known also as Mr Goodwin's literacy group) learned about Onomatopoeia. Onomatopoeia is a word that mimics the sound of a object or action it refers to. When you pronounce a word, it will mimic it's sound. E.g : Zip ! My dress was fastened and the girl was finally ready for the wedding. Anyway, our task was to go on to Google, then we had to type up Onomatopoeia. After that, we had to choose an Onomatopoeia to draw. As soon as we are done doing that. Then we had to think about what the word is used to mimic the sound of, and then we draw it. Then we had to colour, cut out and take a photo to display on our blog.

Description of Learning :

Today we wrote a different type of poem. We wrote a writing your own poems using nouns, verbs and adjectives. With our teacher we discuss the structure of the poem. And we also completed an example together. The Example poem we wrote as a class was about cross country. The Structure of our poem was : 1 Noun, 2 Verbs, 3 Adjectives and 1 Verb. In my poem it is about Motorbike. I put words that make you want to ride an amazing motorbike.

Market Day Recount

Team 4 Market

WALT: Write an interesting and detailed recount.

Have you ever heard of the team 4 market day?

Well that day is like the coolest day ever!!!!

Because we will be able to buy cool products, from different groups it is awesome.

There are many I mean many groups like. . . . . . . Kitchen, musical instruments, Jewels and accessories, home ware, Custom stationery and toys. I am in Jewels and accessories, my partners are Alisha and Lahval. Trade and enterprise is a day when of course we can trade stuff and buy stuff. It is a day when we can get into our group and start selling the products we have made to make money they are called

( Pt and Pieces )  

Every group had to move to a different class room like, Jewels and accessories, toys, and kitchen. The rest of the groups stayed in the team 4 space. Jewels and accessories, toys were moved to the team 3 space, but kitchen was sent outside in the porch.

Me and my group started to set up our stuff we made a big poster and we hanged it in the front of the tables. We had to use two table for all of our stuff to fit.

After that we put all the products that we have made on the table so they would be able to look at it and buy it.

At the market I was buying many thing, but the things that I wanted to buy most of all was some drums so I could wake up my brother whenever he sleeps in. My friend Roimata told me that one bucket was 3 pt but then she cut down the price for me and for me one bucket was 1pt and 50 pieces, so I got 2 and all together was three pt, and I gave that amount. After that I went to Latu she was in costume stationary, she was selling book marks they were 1 pt and 50 pieces and I bought one all together I lost 4 pt and 50 pieces I only had, then I spent my last 50 pieces by buying one of lahval’s bracelet and that was all for me.

After buying some products, I went straight back to my group and we started making more and selling more products. It was really fun selling and making stuff especially when they came out good.As people were coming to buy our products, we were kinda sorta running out of bracelets and we weren't fast enough, the only things we had left were some rings, I was panicking. I tried my best to make some more but by that time the market was over we packed up started to clean and we went into the team 4 area. It was pretty fun.

It was pretty cool I loved it because, I could buy stuff but also I was really happy that I got the drums, because ever since I got them my brother has been waking up earlier than ever.

It was so fun making and selling and buying, I just feel like going back in time and doing that whole again. But most of all I had this really nice feeling a warm feeling jumping up and down with joy.

I am applying for a bank teller, the reason why is because I think that I am suitable for the job because I have the skills of a 

( Hardworking /Trustworthy and also sensible ) Person.

I do have some previous experience like, working hard at home by doing the duties around the house some times and also cleaning my room, also being trustworthy like being truthful, also being sensible whenever there is visitors at home. 

I would love to have this job because it is hard and it can help me with my maths also it is good for my brain so I can think get more smarter so that is why I think I will be suitable for this job because it sounds like the kinda job for me.

For our topic at Pt England school it is all about ( Trade and Enterprise ) Our learning was based on, turning something little into something big. We have been doing this since the beginning of term 3. We can buy other people’s creative work that they have created. If you never heard of our currency and you really really, want to find out more about it, then read on and i’ll tell you all about it

A trade fair is when you have business groups, and you have created some products, and it’s ready to be shown out to customers also, it is when they can buy and also order many of the products that other groups has made. In team 4 we have our own trade and enterprise fair and we have many many great groups that sells yummy cool pretty musical and clean stuff.

We had lots and lots of different groups like. . . . . . Home ware, Toys, Kitchen, Jewel & accessory,

Custom stationery and Music. I am in jewels & accessory. Every single group had to be teamed up into three’s or fours, I was teamed up into threes with…. Alisha and Henslahval. We all had a lot of astonishing ideas, and we could not pick one of them so we picked all of them there were many ideas and it took a long time to make. Click here for presentation

At the trade fair we were allowed to walk around and see other peoples creation that they made with what they had to make it with. My experiences with this is that this was my first trade fair at school in my life.

In week 8 there will be a market day, which is a day that a lot of products that each group made will be sold. Making the orders will be done on that day and the people's who ordered will get there orders on that day. 

Market day is when we get go around and buy stuff from other groups.

Chocolate HEAVEN!!

The heavenly jaffas chocolate

Chocolate is one of my favorite sweets, if my dad would let me I would buy all the chocolate in the WORLD!

This yummy jaffas chocolate contains, of course jaffas and also the main thing chocolate. You can find this at countdown pak'nsave the dairy or the supermarket, these chocolate cost about, $3.30. This brand was made

by Dairy milk one of my favorite chocolate brand.

When my dad came home my nose started to twitch it twitched to the smell of…….. CHOCOLATE!  I could smell all the combinations and flavor going up my nose, when I smelt this I just recognized my mouth was overflowing with water, it was like a waterfall. As I was smelling and my dad left the king sized chocolate there I looked at it, it was like I was taken by the chocolate gods and they took me to chocolate heaven. When my dad let me have some I took four blocks and I put it in my mouth and KABOOM!!! My taste buds went CRAZY! It was melting in my mouth like butter melting on a hot pan, but before I knew it, every last bit of it was in my mouth.

The thing that they should improve is well .  .  . nothing. Because it is just perfect nothing should be changed, it is like a beauty that came down from, chocolate heaven. So yeah not a thing in that heavenly jaffas chocolate should be changed at all.

I would recommend the product a ten out of ten. By a reason of it tasted heavenly and delicious. The sight of the red dots within the creamy brown chocolate was a bit concerning. But above a ten out of ten.

If I had a million Dollars at the Mall

If I had a million Dollars at the Mall

If I had a Million dollars who knows where I would go, I might go to Toyworld or I might go to JB HI-FI maybe, Smiggles or I just might go to all three of them. What would you do if you had a million dollars?

If I had a million dollars the things I would buy at toyworld would be….. A karaoke machine and also wolf teddies. The reason why I would buy those two things is because well.. The first one I mentioned is karaoke machine, the reason I would love to get that is because I love to sing. Second one I would have gotten would be a big wolf teddies, the reason why is because I love animals especially wolves. If I had that kind of money I would buy the whole entire set of wolf teddies.

I can just imagine me in JB HI-FI obtaining everything I have ever wanted. If I had that quantity of money who knows what I would buy, maybe I would buy me a new phone, or maybe I would buy me one of those laptops that can transform into a large iPad and they are touch screen, or maybe I would buy stuff like this……. A flat screen TV, three PSP’s, one PS4, and I pads. I might just go a bit too overboard to be exact.

This is my preferred store of all…..SMIGGLES! They are like my favorite store of all times, if I had a million dollars I would buy everything that is blue in that store I would buy all of the blue stuff, no jokes I just wish I had that much money. But if I did I would buy…..The Blue drawing books all the blue safes, also I would buy all the diaries, and all those amazing magical pens that is called a spy pen. I wish I had a million dollars.

I know I said that I would buy all those things for things that aren't worth it but the real thing that I would do with that money would be.....If I really had a million dollars I would do something like this. . . . . . .I would donate my money for the countries who have had hard times, and having earthquakes that has killed over a million people, I would donate it to them for there health and protection also for there lives.

Our task was to open the template doc that our teacher had made.

We had to write about what we would buy from the mall if we had a million dollars, from different stores, including JB Hi Fi, Toyworld and Footlocker.

Board Game

Walt: We learned to make our own board game.

For the last few weeks, we have been working on a project, everybody was really excited about it they were so excited to start making it. The thing that we were creating was.....OUR OWN BOARD GAME.

What we were doing was playing a game we created. It was a basketball board game, some of us did not get along right, we all argued at each other . But the thing that we were mostly doing was....Team work. 

Some of us were together as partners, but I was by myself I was so happy. We were able to play the game a bit better but we weren't able to stay calm or quiet.

Super Powers

Walt: write effective paragraphs using juicy and exciting words

There are multiple classification types of impressive powers I would love to possess, but if I were to possess only one superpower my superpower would be…. The power to turn into anything I would like to, in other words… ( Shape shifting. )

This power is when you can turn into anything you would like, for example transforming into a puppy. Whenever I would touch something I would turn into it like a tiger or whatsoever. I am convinced that if I could possess that energy from that power, it would feel sore and weird at first but if I got used to it, it would feel like nothing happened.

If I could contain and possess it, I could use it to change into the mayor of NZ and give $100 to everyone in New Zealand but I would not. I would use it to change into a villain and trick other villains into thinking I was one of them and send them to where they belong. Also I would help by changing into a plane and save people who are endangered in other countries. I would use my powers to protect the earth and help everyone and make sure they are safe and at peace.

I really really would exceedingly love to possess that quantity of power to transform into something I would love to turn into, like an animal. Also I would love to see what it would feel like to fly, to soar through the sky and feel the clouds. That has always been my super power dream.
